w/o emulsions and polyols

Hi everyone,
I have read several times in previous posts that it is not preferable to have high percentages of glycerine or propanediol in w/o emulsions.
Can someone please explain me why is this

True, polyols will generally destabilize inverse-phase emulsions (w/Si too). To offer a theory, polyols may act as pseudo-surfactants in those systems. creating eutectic mixtures with available water, thereby competing with the primary ones employed.
